Kawasaki Vulcan
When the Kawasaki Vulcan 750 hit dealers’ showrooms in 1984, it ushered in a new era for the venerable motorcycle marque. The Vulcan 750 was Kawasaki’s first V-Twin-powered, American-style cruiser motorcycle. Since then, the Kawasaki Vulcan cruisers have become a staple seller for the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer.
The 2009 Vulcan 1700 Classic has the big-boned styling chops of a classic cruiser and a healthy V-Twin engine doling out the power.
The
Kawasaki Vulcan line covers a broad range of cruiser motorcycles, ranging in
displacement from 125cc to 2000cc, with model names like the Classic,
Eliminator, Mean Streak, Nomad, and Voyager. The Eliminator 125 is at the
bottom of the scale with its air-cooled, 124cc single-cylinder engine and
straight flow exhaust while the Vulcan 2000 stands at the top of the heap with
its four-stroke 52-degree V-Twin pumping out an impressive 2053cc of power. The
Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 had the largest V-Twin engine in a production motorcycle
when it was introduced in 2004. The massive liquid-cooled V-Twin had a
bore/stroke of 103 X 123.2mm, forged pistons, alloy-steel connecting rods, dual
cams and right-side pushrods all nestled within a double-cradle steel frame.

The first fully dressed Kawi tourer includes hard saddlebags and a top case, a high-rising front windscreen, a large frame-mounted front fairing and a plush setup so passengers ride in style and comfort.
